Ava went kite flying for the first time last weekend. She and daddy picked one out together, then took it to Gasworks Park for some serious stunt kite shinanigans. Well, maybe no stunt kite tricks, but they definately had a good time.

Preschool

It's that time already. Two and a half and off to school. We are only on day 3, but Ava seems to be having a great time meeting new friends and learning from Teacher Jackie. Her preschool has a play structure with a slide so that is the talk of the day. That, along with how much fun it is to pack her lunch in her backpack and wear it. Ava came home today covered in marker and with her ponytail totally dishevelled. Definately signs of fun. From her first few days of preschool:

BFF

Ava has been spending lots of time with her BFF Phoebe lately. Phoebe became a big sister 2 weeks ago so we have been helping out her mom and dad. We love playing with our neighbor Phoebe who is a sweet and silly girl.

Little fish

Ava has been spending much time in the water this summer. We have had epic adventures at the wading pool, as well as weekly swim lessons. The lovely warm (and occasionally hot) weather has provided tons of opportunity for my little fish to practice her water skills. At swim lessons Ava does "big arms", kicks and floats across the pool, and climbs out of the pool by herself. When she is feeling brave she will swim underwater or jump in by herself. Soon she will be surfing like dad or scuba diving like mom.

i love the camera! i have taken after my daddy and my favorite new hobby is taking pictures. mommy and daddy get annoyed because whenever they get the camera out all i want to do is take it from them. ha ha! but i have taken some pretty sweet self portraits lately. check 'em out.
