Double fistin'

i am getting soooo good at holding stuff! just look at me go with both hands. and that one in my left hand is heavy too. good thing i didn't knock my teeth out. oh wait, i don't have any yet.

also my cousin came over to visit today. he likes to hold me and play with me. i think it's fun to look at him because he smiles a lot. someday he will teach me to sing songs and play games. it will be good fun times.

Quick, Ava, look cute!

that's what my daddy always says. he doesn't know that it's really quite easy for me. my giant grin gets him every time. now that i can hold on to things like my friend stretch the giraffe i look even cuter. just wait till i can giggle. that will really slay him.

Ava goes to the car show

There was a car show in our neighborhood last weekend and Ava was excited to go because it was sunny outside. She got to wear her fun little sun hat. Friends Kris, Cristine, and Jayden came along too. Things were going well until some idiot decided to start his car, show off his engine and drive said car down the crowded street. Note to idiot: Sleeping babies do not like reving engines.

Rolling Over!

Sometime in the month of June Ava surprised her mom by rolling over for the first time. They grow up so fast, don't they? She is practicing every day and will soon be able to go from back to front as well. I can't believe how strong she is and how much she changes every day. This parenting thing is starting to be lots of fun.

T-Shirts and Photos

father's day was lots of fun. mommy and i made a t-shirt for daddy with my name on it to tide him over until he can get my name tatooed on him. we also printed lots of pictures of me and him and framed them for his office. he likes photos so it was a nice present. in the morning daddy went for a ride and then we went to the fremont solstice fair. no naked bicyclists this year, but my parents indulged in lots of tasty treats while i napped in the stroller. a good time was had by all.

Ava's Hobbies

Favorite pastimes of miss ava include tummy time, reading colorful books, and being cute. Tummy time was once disliked, but is now enjoyed because rolling over is being practiced. Her favorite books are "Ten Little Ladybugs" and "There's a Wocket in my Pocket". As for being cute, well that's not much of a challenge. Here is some documentation of her in action.

Mother's Day

i made my mommy's first mother's day fabulous. i took her to my grandma's house for brunch. my daddy, aunt tals, and cousin halo were there too. my daddy and i gave her a beautiful necklace made of my birthstone. i had the present in my crib with me so that my mommy would see it right away when she came to get me first thing in the morning. i was excited to give it to her. my aunt also gave her a necklace but this one said my name. my mommy wears it all the time. my mommy said her first mother's day was great. i'm glad.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Ava's first trip to the zoo, accompanied by our friend Jay. Jay apparently loves the zoo and was most excited to go. We saw some bears, but I don't think we made it to the lions and tigers before nap time set in.

Grandpa after Grandpa

Ava's adventures continued when she met grandpa Zbigniew for the first time, followed shortly by grandpa Chuck. What a lucky girl to have so many grandparents! She spent time at home with grandpa Chuck just chillin'. Grandpa Zbigniew took her to the Children's museum with cousin Halo and aunt Tals.

First Visitors

When Ava was 2 weeks old "the grandmas" from California came to visit. "The Princess of Seattle" was sung and somebody went a little crazy with the hat stamping...

The Adventures Begin
Ava Lucja's adventures began March 9th, 2006. She started life as an easy baby, but quickly changed her docile nature and turned into a raging crier. Months of seemingly endless screaming ended as suddenly as they began. Now her days are cheery, smiley, and full of new adventures. And so begins her story...
